At Matthew E. Healey, D.M.D. Family Dentistry, we are pleased to offer ClearCorrect as a form of aligner therapy to help our patients achieve the smile of their dreams without traditional braces.
What is ClearCorrect?
ClearCorrect is a clear aligner system used to straighten teeth without metal brackets or wires from traditional braces. Instead, ClearCorrect uses a series of clear, custom-made removable aligners that gradually shift your teeth into the desired alignment.
ClearCorrect can be used to treat patients with the following conditions:
- Crooked or rotated teeth
- Crowded teeth
- Overbites
- Spaces or gaps between teeth
- Underbites
ClearCorrect may not be suitable for patients with certain misalignments or more complex bite issues.
How does ClearCorrect work?
After we determine that ClearCorrect is right for you, your dental impressions, photographs, radiographs and any prescription notes from our dentist will be sent to ClearCorrect’s laboratory. There, ClearCorrect’s team creates a series of clear aligners designed to correct your smile.
The number of aligners will vary depending on the treatment plan selected by your dentist. There are three convenient plans: unlimited, limited 12, or limited 6. Once the aligners are finished, they are shipped back to our office so that we can ensure a proper fit before you begin treatment.
ClearCorrect involves four phases of aligner therapy. Each phase requires a new set of aligners worn throughout a set period. The time between each phase allows for control and flexibility. Throughout treatment, you will notice your teeth slowly adjusting and aligning to your desired smile. Periodic check-ups will allow us to monitor your progress and determine when you are ready for the next set.
For the best results, you should wear your aligners diligently only removing them to eat, drink, and brush or floss your teeth. It is also important that you remove your aligners during contact sports or other physical activities that may damage your aligners.
